Built on real site experience

AUFIWI Training Services exists because the people most affected by poor training are the ones doing the most dangerous work.

Our Story

Training written by people who’ve been on the tools

AUFIWI was founded to close the gap between training material and the reality of the work.

Across two decades in mining and rail, our founder saw the same problem again and again: training packages written far from the worksite, full of generic content that didn’t match the plant, the procedures, or the hazards crews actually faced. Assessments that ticked a compliance box but didn’t prove competence.

AUFIWI Training Services was built to do it properly — industry-specific content, rigorous competency verification, and assessment tools that stand up to audit while genuinely reflecting whether someone can do the job safely.

What Drives Us

Principles we don’t compromise on

Safety is the point

Every resource we build exists to send people home safe. Compliance is the floor, not the goal.

Specific beats generic

Training that matches your actual equipment and site conditions changes behaviour. Generic content doesn’t.

Defensible by design

Our assessment tools are mapped, validated, and moderated so they hold up when it matters.

Phil Dyet

CEO & Founder

I’m a Training Specialist with a career built on one core belief: people are the centre of every safe, capable and future-ready workplace. I genuinely care about people and education, and I see training and development as essential to building a sustainable workforce in the resources sector.

Across more than two decades in mining, rail, fire systems, maintenance and heavy industry, I’ve worked in technical, supervisory and training roles that have shaped how I teach, lead and support others. My early years were spent developing deep hands-on experience in technical service, installations, maintenance, and workforce supervision. Over time, that evolved into a passion for developing others — helping people grow their skills, confidence and capability.

As my career progressed, I moved into training, assessment and learning design roles, where I’ve delivered practical, real-world training across a wide range of operational environments. I’ve supported trainees, apprentices, maintainers and experienced personnel, always focusing on adapting training to suit individual learning needs — because not everyone learns the same way.

I believe labour and skills shortages aren’t solved by searching for “perfect” candidates — they’re solved by finding people with the right attitude and giving them the training to succeed. My approach is grounded in respect, patience, adaptability and a genuine commitment to helping people grow into the roles industry needs.

Today, I continue to design and deliver training programs, develop learning pathways, and support culture-building initiatives that strengthen safety, capability and long-term workforce development. My goal is simple: build confident, skilled people who feel supported, valued and ready to contribute.
